Hōkū Nui raises white dorper sheep. Lamb from the white dorper is highly sought after by discerning chefs who consider this breed to have the best tasting meat. Lamb from the white dorper is mild and does not have the “mutton taste” that many people associate with lamb, it is a delicious and succulent meat.
On the farm, the white dorper sheep breed was chosen for their hardiness, year-round breeding, high twinning rates and shedding ability (no need to shave!).
Grass-fed lamb is a high quality protein and can be an excellent source of vitamin B12, selenium, niacin, zinc and phosphorus.
Lamb is currently not available. Please sign up for our Farm to Table Hui to become notified when it becomes available.
